This is accurate sometimes, indeed, when the dark shadow of which we're still oblivious takes the lead. Other times, it can be more about a needs' conflict explained by the integrated attachment theory. Rarely, it's the fruit of highly self-aware folks who've been doing much inner work and are leading a virtuous life driven by a mission that goes beyond themselves. Those are the ones who get frustrated because of the evil directed to other living beings who can't stand for themselves. They almost never get angry for themselves because they're secure enough to understand it's never personal!
