Sadly, it seems to me that when people suffer from PTSD and more specifically the scapegoat of the narcissistic household (who suffered abandonment) tend to develop an anxious-preoccupied attachment style making their life revolve around a life partner or child from whom to extract their self-worth that was discriminated against for so long, and close their heart to anything else. Also, as a means to amplify their self-esteem when being kids, they tend to develop narcissistic tendencies and rationalize eveything. The emphasis on the left brain leaves very small room to empathize with others’ suffering given they’ve been suppressing their emotions as a survival strategy!
