Oh gosh, dear Henery, this simple; yet extremely powerful sentence hits home...

When I share with people who wanna know a bit more about what personally helped my transformational adventure; namely 1. breaking the denial circle and being armed with tons of humility to unlearn and learn again, 2. honesty to admit to myself where I am, 3. Opennes to challenge my ingrained limiting beliefs that I've been taking for the absolute truth, 4. bravery to stay with the pain of meeting my demons and destroying them, and 5. consistency in re-writing the program, most of them report having failed when it comes to the courage of staying with the pain, given they chose to commit to the adventure to get rid of their suffering in the first place!

That's where your sentence has all its meaning. My answer to this "legitimate" claim always comes as below:

I obviously went through such a turmoil, doubted my decision and hated it I can't even recall how many times! But what helped raising my bravery level every single time was to remember why I was doing it in the first place. My out-of-body experience which happened while I was about to end my life drastically helped me since the servant leader in me who dissociated showed me all the unhealthy ego's lies. What you need to remember is that if you are transforming exclusively for yourself, chances are very high you will give up sooner than you would wish it to be true... Your drive needs to be a mission broader than yourself, and you will be the first one to benefit from the process as you will set the servant leader free!

And because the suffering topic was so recurrent, I thought of giving a try to explore it in detail here:
