It seems to me that offering our sacred kindness to an intentionally cruel person, a bully, an antagonist, a perpetrator would do no favor to anyone. They aren’t able to be inspired. By doing so, we are merely ENABLING them to inflict more harm on more people. We are implictly participating in their crimes (unfortunately not yet punished by the law). When it comes to narcissists, for instance, we would be their flying monkeys they love to use to clean their shit. When a victim is gaslighted (making them doubt their reality) by a narcissist and that we say, for instance, “I know the guy, he didn’t mean it, can we probably find a kinder way to manage the problem”, we are worse than the antagonist themselves. Not only was the victim abused but we also invalidated their reality and made them feel doubly hurt. Education around the different manipulation and abuse tactics to start spotting them and stop the hemorrhage is a must, I suppose!
