I don't think evil people to the level of becoming monsters after selling their soul could learn their lessons in one lifetime, if they do at all... I once heard of a soul-soothing story from a guy who had a NDE. He reported he used to abuse his dog. When he was in that sacred space, he was a witness to one of those episodes. He felt what his dog was experiencing both physically and emotionally. What blew his mind was the following: his dog's heart was feeling both extreme sadness and unconditional love!
